Pennant number 510, Ningde is the 46th Type 054A-class frigate to enter service with the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy.
With a displacement of approximately 4,000 tons and a length of 134 meters, the frigate was developed as a multi-role platform capable of conducting air defense, anti-submarine warfare, and anti-surface warfare missions.
The standard configuration of the class features a 32-cell vertical launch system (VLS), primarily equipped with HHQ-16 surface-to-air missiles and Yu-8 anti-submarine rockets.
The Type 054A frigates also carry eight YJ-83 anti-ship missiles, torpedoes, close-in air defense systems, and one embarked helicopter.
