AKINCI UCAV Hits Target with SUNGUR Air-to-Air Missile!

The AKINCI combat UAV destroyed its target with high precision using the SUNGUR air-to-air missile developed by Roketsan…

With this critical achievement, the AKINCI has expanded its munition options for air-to-air engagements against aerial targets such as helicopters and UAVs, in addition to its existing strike capability against land and maritime targets.

Capable of operating up to an altitude of 40,000 feet thanks to its twin-turboprop engine configuration, the AKINCI conducts strategic reconnaissance and strike missions using an endurance of more than 24 hours together with the MURAD AESA radar and advanced electro-optical reconnaissance/surveillance systems.

Capable of carrying up to 1,500 kilograms of munitions across multiple weapon stations, the platform can employ a wide range of munitions suited to different mission profiles.

The platform’s mission payloads include a multi-mode AESA radar, electro-optical/infrared systems, laser designation systems, and SIGINT systems.

The AKINCI can carry laser-guided and INS/GPS-guided munitions, as well as infrared-guided munitions, air-to-air missiles, stand-off munitions, cruise missiles, and mini cruise missiles…
