Under the procurement program, the Romanian Naval Forces have received their first 9 AAV-7 tracked amphibious vehicles.
While the armored vehicle acquisition process was launched in 2023, Romania announced in 2024 that it plans to procure 44 additional vehicles on top of its initial order of 21.
Total AAV-7 deliveries to the Romanian Naval Forces are planned to be completed between 2026 and 2031.
Armament consists of a 12.7 mm M2 Browning machine gun and a 40 mm Mk 19 automatic grenade launcher.
