Developed under the U.S. Army’s Future Interceptor program, the missile has moved into its next development phase.
Under the program, the goal is to have the PAC-3 Edge ready for rapid fielding by 2031.
Built on the PAC-3 MSE, the PAC-3 Edge has a different seeker designed for the new missile.
The PAC-3 Edge interceptor uses a multi-pulse solid rocket motor developed by Northrop Grumman to enhance its performance at longer ranges and higher altitudes.
