Boeing Receives Contract for PAC-3 MSE Seekers

Under an undefinitized contract action (UCA) valued at approximately $14.7 billion and issued by Lockheed Martin, Boeing will increase production of the seekers used in the PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) interceptors and carry out their deliveries.

The contract calls for tripling PAC-3 MSE seeker production under the seven-year framework agreement signed between Boeing and the U.S. Department of War.

Built by Boeing, the seekers enable the PAC-3 MSE, one of the Patriot system’s most advanced interceptors, to detect, track, and engage advanced threats such as hypersonic, ballistic, and cruise missiles, as well as enemy aircraft.

Thanks to its dual-pulse solid rocket motor, the PAC-3 MSE offers greater range and altitude performance than earlier PAC-3 variants, while its enlarged control surfaces provide high maneuverability.
