We allocated an additional budget of $24 billion with our STEEL DOME project to the air and missile defense capabilities that are most lacking in our alliance.
STEEL DOME is a new generation network-based air defense system that aims to protect Turkish airspace with a multi-layered and integrated architecture.
The system, which combines different platforms and sensors in a single command-control infrastructure, functions with a "systems system" approach.
The STEEL DOME forms a common air defense umbrella by integrating KORKUT, HISAR-A, HISAR-O and TRENCH elements, which serve in the air defense layers ranging from very low altitude to high altitude, with radar networks, electro-optical sensors and command control centers.
Thanks to the decision support mechanisms supported by artificial intelligence, all elements can share data in real time.
The STEEL DOME, which is fully integrated with the search and fire control radars with AESA technology, can automatically determine the most appropriate preventive element against different types of threats in line with the network-centered operation concept.
