The United States announced that it will integrate the AGM-158C Long Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM) onto the B-52H Stratofortress bomber…
Integrating the missile will expand the B-52H’s role in maritime warfare, allowing the bomber to be employed against surface targets at sea.
Under a contract expected to be signed with Lockheed Martin, the missile’s software is to be updated.
Developed by Lockheed Martin, the LRASM is designed to strike surface targets at long range in environments with heavy enemy threats.

It combines multimode sensors, a data link, and jam-resistant GPS-aided navigation.
Its warhead, weighing approximately 454 kilograms, is designed to deliver penetration as well as blast and fragmentation effects.
LRASM is already integrated and in service on the B-1B Lancer bomber and the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet.
As a stand-off munition, it lets the launch platform strike targets from a distance, reducing its exposure to enemy air defenses…
