The financing for the procurement program announced within the scope of the Ankara NATO Summit was determined as 3 billion euros.
€3 billion defense procurement program covers a total of 44 main air defense elements.
Within the scope of the program, 10 medium-range NASAMS will carry out 20 close air defense missions Skyranger 30 system and 14 Thales Ground Master 200 AESA radars will be supplied.
NASAMS systems will provide medium-range engagement against aircraft, cruise missiles and large unmanned aerial vehicles, while Skyranger 30 systems will serve as close air defense against low-altitude threats such as drones, mobile munitions, helicopters and similar threats.
GM200 radars will create a sensor network for airspace surveillance, target detection, tracking and engagement management.
The Ground Master 200, developed by Thales, offers a range of about 250 kilometers in surveillance mode and about 100 kilometers in engagement support mode. The system can track targets up to an altitude of approximately 80,000 feet and provides rapid reaction against cruise missiles, UAVs and low-altitude aircraft thanks to its high refresh rate.
The Skyranger 30 system is equipped with the 30×173 mm Oerlikon KCE automatic cannon system and can reach a level of 1,200 beats per minute.
The system offers an effective close air defense, especially against small unmanned aerial vehicles, mobile ammunition, and low-altitude threats.
The use of programmable air explosive ammunition creates a particle effect in the vicinity of the target, increasing the likelihood of hitting small and fast targets.
NASAMS is a medium-range surface-to-air missile defense system that provides effective range in the range of approximately 25-40 kilometers depending on the type of ammunition used.
