The Global 6500 platforms, which will be configured to conduct electronic attack and electronic jamming missions, will perform electronic warfare capabilities while operating outside the engagement range of enemy threat elements.
The integration of the platforms into the South Korean inventory and the full operational capability process are projected to be completed by 2034.
While Korean Air will be responsible for the procurement of the two Global 6500 platforms, the integration of mission systems and the delivery of the platforms will be carried out by LIG.
South Korea will utilize the two platforms converted to an Electronic Warfare configuration under the Stand-Off Jammer (SOJ) mission concept.
