U.S. Will Purchase 16,450 JASSM and LRASM Missiles!

The maximum quantity, previously announced as 11,200, has been revised upward by 47% to 16,450 units.

The program covers production lots 27-33 for the JASSM missile and lots 13-19 for the LRASM.

The missiles, in various configurations and variants, are planned to be produced over a 5-7 year period.

Initial deliveries of the missiles are targeted to begin within approximately 2 years following the signing of the contract.

The AGM-158 JASSM is an air-to-ground cruise missile developed to strike high-value, heavily defended land targets from a safe standoff distance, thanks to its low-observable airframe and long-range strike capability.

Utilizing a GPS/INS navigation system and an infrared seeker, the missile is capable of operating autonomously under all weather conditions, day or night.

The AGM-158C LRASM is a low-observable, precision-guided anti-ship cruise missile developed to neutralize surface targets from long range in high-threat maritime operational environments.

Equipped with a multi-mode sensor suite and a data link, the missile can perform semi-autonomous navigation under intense electronic warfare conditions and engage pre-designated targets from a safe standoff distance…
