ASELSAN has begun development work on a Multifunction Fire Control Radar designed to detect and track hypersonic threats…
The work focuses in particular on detecting hypersonic targets that combine a low radar cross-section with high speed.
To counter the way hypersonic missiles evade detection through their low radar cross-section and plasma sheath effect, R&D efforts are continuing on the fusion of X-band and L-band radars.
As part of this effort, radar fusion technologies are being developed to combine data collected by radars operating in the X and L bands.
Through radar fusion, target tracks obtained from different radar bands are intended to be evaluated together, enabling more effective detection and tracking of hypersonic threats.
The Multi-Function Fire Control Radar developed by ASELSAN is believed to be under consideration as part of technologies that could be deployed in more advanced air defense layers positioned above the SİPER air defense system.
These efforts are aimed at contributing to the development of detection, tracking, and engagement capabilities of air defense systems against hypersonic targets…
