Russia Has Modernized the Guidance System of the Iskander Tactical Ballistic Missile!

Russia has announced that it has modernized the guidance system of the Iskander tactical ballistic missile

With this modernization, the missiles now exhibit greater resilience against electronic warfare and electronic countermeasures.

The 12-element digital antenna array integrated into the system as part of this modernization improves GLONASS signal reception, thereby reducing the impact of electronic jamming on the missile’s navigation and guidance performance.

The Iskander system has a maximum range of 500 kilometers and is designed to precisely destroy high-value targets such as command and control centers, communications hubs, and air defense bases.

The missile can carry a standard 480 kg warhead and can be equipped with monolithic bunker-buster, cluster munition, or high-explosive fragmentation warheads, depending on mission requirements.

The Iskander missile has a length of approximately 7.3 meters, a body diameter of 920 mm, and a launch weight of approximately 3.8–4.0 tons
