Edgewing Awarded £4.6 Billion Contract for GCAP Fighter Jet!

The GCAP Agency has announced that it has signed a £4.6 billion contract with Edgewing to carry out the next development phase under the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP).

The program in question encompasses a next-generation fighter jet development initiative jointly conducted by the UK, Italy, and Japan.

The contract enables the completion of the development and evaluation phase while advancing the detailed design and development activities of the GCAP platform.

While the contract was signed by GCAP, Edgewing serves as the prime contractor and technical lead for the GCAP fighter jet.

The 6th-generation low-observable fighter jet being developed under the program is targeted to enter operational service by 2035.
