Norway has requested additional 155mm M795 HE artillery projectiles, along with technical assistance, documentation, engineering, technical and logistics support services, and other related program support elements.
The additional ammunition and support elements will be incorporated into an existing FMS case previously valued at $99.99 million, bringing its estimated total value to $270 million.
General Dynamics will serve as the principal contractor for the proposed sale. No offset agreement has been announced in connection with the case, with any future arrangements to be determined through negotiations between Norway and the contractor.
The 155mm M795 HE is a high-explosive artillery projectile weighing approximately 46.7 kg and capable of reaching a maximum range of around 22.5 km.
Featuring an HF-1 high-fragmentation steel body containing approximately 10.8 kg of explosive, the projectile is intended for use against personnel, armored and mechanized targets, command-and-control facilities, supply points and other tactical targets.
