The program entails the construction of two 72-meter Scorpène Evolved Full LiB submarines for the Indonesian Navy.
The vessels are being built at the PT PAL shipyard in collaboration with France’s Naval Group.
Production of the second submarine is scheduled to commence in 2027.
The first boat is slated for delivery between 2030 and 2032, followed by the second in 2033.
The Scorpène Evolved features a full lithium-ion battery system, an operational range exceeding 8,000 nautical miles, and a test depth of more than 300 meters.
With a surface displacement of approximately 1,600 to 2,000 tons, the submarine can carry a payload including heavy torpedoes, SM39 Exocet anti-ship missiles, and up to 30 naval mines, depending on the mission configuration…
