Under the contract valued at SEK 1.2 billion, Finland will receive RBS 70 NG air defence systems and associated equipment.
The RBS 70 NG is a short-range, surface-to-air air defense system developed by Saab and is designed to counter aerial threats such as low-altitude aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Together with the BOLIDE missile, the system has an effective interception range of more than 9 kilometres and an altitude coverage of up to 5 kilometres.
