Egypt May Purchase 24 Additional Rafale Fighter Jets!

Egypt has sent French manufacturer Dassault Aviation a Request for Proposal (RFP).

The RFP represents a step indicating Egypt’s interest in the procurement, but does not yet constitute a purchase order or a signed contract.

If the procurement goes ahead, Egypt will place its third Rafale order, following orders for 24 aircraft in 2015 and 30 Rafales in 2021.

If the deal is finalized, the Egyptian Air Force’s French fighter fleet will reach 78 aircraft.

The potential new procurement comes as part of efforts to modernize the Egyptian Air Force’s combat aircraft fleet.
