With this modification, the cumulative value of the contract between the U.S. Army and BAE Systems Land & Armaments has now reached $3,298,715,424, reflecting the continued scale of investment in the AMPV program.
Under the contract, work on the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) is planned to be completed by 2030.
The AMPV is designed to provide high mobility, enhanced ballistic protection, and the safe transport of personnel and critical equipment on the battlefield.
The AMPV weighs approximately 34-36 tons, reaches a maximum speed of 54-61 km/h depending on the variant, and offers a range of approximately 362 kilometers.
