As part of the program, Aster 30 missiles from Italian inventories, along with Kronos radars and SAMP/T system components, will be transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The transfer of the new SAMP/T air defense systems is planned to be completed in 2027.
SAMP/T is a medium-range air defense system that uses Aster 30 Block 1 interceptor missiles and provides 360-degree air defense and limited ballistic missile defense capabilities.
With an engagement range of more than 100 kilometers, the system can intercept targets at altitudes of approximately 20 kilometers.
The system consists of the Arabel multifunction radar, an engagement module, and vertical launchers, each capable of carrying eight Aster 30 missiles.
The Arabel radar provides 360-degree coverage, detecting aerial targets at ranges of approximately 60 kilometers and tracking targets at ranges of up to 120 kilometers…
