The contract, awarded under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) arrangement, covers the production of seeker-equipped PrSM missiles designed to engage moving maritime and land targets, while supporting the rapid fielding of deep-strike capabilities and the replenishment of strategic missile stockpiles.
Increment 2 integrates a terminal seeker that combines RF and imaging infrared (IIR) sensors into the PrSM ground-to-ground missile architecture.
The Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) is a ballistic missile approximately 4 meters in length and 430 mm in diameter, powered by a solid-propellant propulsion system, and carrying a high-explosive fragmentation warhead weighing approximately 91 kg.
Increment 1 relies on an INS/GPS guidance system and has a range of at least 500 km, forming the baseline capability from which subsequent increments continue to evolve.
Increment 2, through its passive RF and imaging infrared terminal sensing capability, enables the missile to detect, during the terminal phase, a target that has moved from its pre-launch designated coordinates.
While Increment 4 aims to extend the program’s range to 1,000 km and beyond, Increment 2 focuses not on increasing range but on enhancing guidance capability and expanding engagement capacity against moving targets…
