The program aims to maintain the combat effectiveness of the MV-22B through future upgrades while preserving its critical role in amphibious operations and long-range air assault missions.

The MV-22B Osprey is a medium-lift tiltrotor that combines the vertical takeoff and landing capabilities of a helicopter with the speed and range of a turboprop aircraft.

Powered by two Rolls-Royce AE1107C engines, each producing 6,200 shaft horsepower, the aircraft achieves a maximum speed of 280 knots, a combat radius of approximately 325 nautical miles, and a service ceiling of 24,700 feet.

With a maximum vertical takeoff weight of approximately 23.9 tons, the MV-22B can operate from amphibious ships and forward-deployed bases without the need for runways…
