General Atomics Integrating JSM Missile for MQ-9B!

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems and Kongsberg have completed two critical design reviews for integrating the Joint Strike Missile (JSM) onto the MQ-9B unmanned aerial vehicle…

This jointly funded program aims to equip the MQ-9B with long-range strike capabilities against high-priority targets.

The completed reviews establish the technical framework for integrating precision strike capabilities into the MQ-9B platform.

Developed by GA-ASI, the MQ-9B—which includes the SkyGuardian and SeaGuardian variants—is a long-endurance unmanned platform designed for both land and maritime operations.

The Kongsberg-produced Joint Strike Missile is a fifth-generation, low-observable air-to-surface weapon engineered to engage high-value land and maritime targets at long ranges.

JSM integration will extend the MQ-9B’s mission profile beyond current intelligence, surveillance, and multi-domain operations to include precision strike. The system will provide an unmanned attack option capable of operating either independently or in concert with manned aircraft.

Integrating the JSM onto the MQ-9B provides the platform with advanced strike capabilities for both joint and independent operations…
