Canada plans to procure six GlobalEye aircraft along with associated systems and support services, but a firm order has not yet been placed.
The negotiations will determine the configuration of the GlobalEye platform and how the program will be implemented.
GlobalEye is designed to remain airborne for more than 12 hours, with its primary sensor being the Erieye Extended Range radar integrated into an approximately 10-meter-long structure mounted above the aircraft’s fuselage.
The GlobalEye platform has an instrumented range of 650 kilometers and, when operating at an altitude of 10,700 meters, can detect low-flying threats at distances of more than 400 kilometers.
