Türkiye’s Defense Industries Presidency (SSB) announced that it has signed a €2.46 billion contract with Aselsan for the procurement of Hybrid Air Defense Systems…
The name, quantity, and delivery schedule of the system to be procured under the contract have not been disclosed.
Although the system’s name has not been disclosed, Aselsan’s GÜRZ is described as a hybrid air defense system.
The system combines capabilities derived from technologies developed under the HİSAR and KORKUT programs on a single platform.
In addition to the KORKUT air defense gun, the GÜRZ platform is planned to employ SUNGUR or GÖKSUR missiles.
Bringing an AESA search radar, a fire control radar, and electro-optical sensors together on the same platform, the GÜRZ can carry out target detection and engagement processes.
